June is the month for Alzheimer’s Awareness and in support of research and those suffering from this disease, everyone is asked to take part! Here are some ways you can get involved to help end Alzheimer’s.
June 21st marks the longest day of the year. It is also the day where thousands across the world will raise funds in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Each community can set up their own fundraiser however they see fit and people wear purple to unify their cause. Proceeds given to the Alzheimer’s Association in support of this effort will be used to fund research, provide care and support to those suffering in your community, and increase awareness and advocacy.
How You Can Help
The ideas for how you can contribute are endless. From hosting your own fundraiser, to wearing purple and talking about it, to just using the hashtags #ENDALZ or #TheLongestDay, there’s a level of involvement for anyone. Click here to see many of the most popular ideas for people of all ages.
Kingsley Shores Fundraiser
Here at Kingsley Shores, we have an easy and enjoyable opportunity for you to participate in the Longest Day! From 5-7pm June 20th, we will host a picnic supper for $5 while Spinning Marty’s Band plays all your favorite country music! There are multiple ways you can give besides the meal. Buy a raffle ticket or participate in the silent auction in the front of the building as well! Our staff will be wearing purple and able to help you find your way around.
Even if you cannot attend our event, you can still donate to help those fighting Alzheimer’s in Minnesota here. Let the light of the longest day fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s!
